Commercial Landscaping Portfolio

Giles Landscapes has created many success stories in East Anglia (Cambridge and Newmarket), the East Midlands and North London and below are just a few.

Granta Park - Business Park

Location: Great Abington, Cambridgeshire
Approx Area: 150 acres

Giles Landscapes worked from plans provided for this project and achieved a high quality finish befitting one of the region's high profile, prestigious business parks.

Elements included:

Our ongoing maintenance programme includes maintenance of the large lake coupled with conservation work. We are also responsible for maintaining the wildlife areas and care of all grass areas. In addition we also maintain the cricket field, square and wicket.

Park and Ride - Newmarket Road, Cambridge

Approx area: 80 acres

Giles Landscapes worked closely with architects on this project to bring this park and ride site to life.

Elements included:

This project presented us with one or two challenges, primarily in the form of birds flying from the lagoon and into the flight path of a local airport. To achieve a safe, visually pleasing effect, hurdles were strategically positioned.

Our continuing maintenance programme with this site ensures that the site is maintained to the highest specification.

Science Park 406, Cambridge

Approx area: 4 acres

Giles Landscapes provided a clean, purposeful soft landscaping scheme, protecting planting from rabbit damage. Our hard landscaping played a major role in maintaining the clean lines of the project.

Science Park Q Forum, Cambridge Science Park

Our soft landscaping maximised the effect of the extensive arboriculture required on this project to achieve the look the architects wanted from this important, prestigious focal point for businesses in the region.

Grey friars Tower, Kings Lynn

Brought to public attention in 2003 as part of the BBC’s Restoration programme, work on Greyfriars Tower began in June 2005 with both the restoration of the building and landscaping works. Giles Landscapes were commissioned to undertake both the hard and soft landscaping. The aim of the design project was to enhance the setting of the 13th century tower reflecting the layout of the once existing Franciscan friary.

Underlying archaeological features were expressed in York stone with specific areas such as the chancel and cloister detailed to encourage visitors to congregate and relax in these historic surroundings. The existing war memorial stands pride of place within the memorial gardens that take their design from an original 1911 layout commemorating the coronation of King George V.

Oundle School - Oundle nr Peterborough

Giles Landscapes were commissioned in March 2006 to carry out all landscaping works on this beautiful and historic site. A formal garden was created outside the yarrow in keeping with the 17th century theme, along with a complete re-design and re-laying of paths and herbaceous borders. Ashley Dunseath of LDA Design and the designer of this new garden said... 'From day one I have been impressed with the effort and commitment that has been shown by your team to help make this project happen and for that I thank you. The finished product is a wholly satisfactory delivery of our design for which I am grateful'.

SDC Marshall's Show Gardens - Enfield

Soft landscaping of the show gardens and perimeter planting for Marshall's Landscape Product's new show centre. Our continuing maintenance programme ensures this new centre continues to look at its best.

Rowan House - Buxton, Norwich

Ornamental shrub and tree planting and the creation of meadow grass and wild flower areas, including a five year after care contract.

Compass point - Business Park, Great Abington, Cambridgeshire

Approx Area: 80 acres

Giles Landscapes were required to overcome some serious health and safety issues on this project as well as performing extensive conservation and enhancing the working surroundings.

Elements included:

  • Relocating badgers by creating new environments
  • Clearing extensive lakes and creating wildflower meadows around the banks
  • Extensive arboriculture
