Last week Roger attended an industry conference on water sustainability at the Tower of London no less! What a great place to hold a conference! It was hosted by the MD of Watermatic and judging by how inspired Roger was when he came back - it must have been a good day! He came back armed with a host of information on water harvesting systems, green roofs and watering systems. He was shocked by how much water an average household gets through in one day and is keen to raise awareness on ways of recycling. Watermatic are the only company to be actively working with local council water boards such as Cambridgshire Water on how to reduce domestic consumption of water by using water harvesting technology.
It is hoped that we can use this information and new business contact to aid incorporation of these systems into future designs as the public grow more aware of the importance of recycling water. Especially if the proposed new Flood and Water Management law comes into force.
Next stop is to visit our local Wetland Centre to find out how their reedbed and water recycling tanks are coping with the rigours of public use.
