On Sunday we all took part in the Welney Wetland Centre's Fen Tiger's Day and had a great time!
The day was put on to celebrate fen life past and present and we had a small Wildlife garden set up to show how easy it is to attract wildlife into any size space cheaply and effectively.
We also had a 'donation for a plant' stand where people could take as many plants as they liked in return for a donation. We managed to raise over £100 with every penny going to Macmillan Cancer Support.
It was a great day and we met a lot of local people who told us stories about their ancestors working in the Fens - it was a real eye opener to hear about the hardships they went through, the stories behind the traditions and the enthusiastic spirit still present as they continue those traditions today. It was very inspirational!
