Roger Giles - Managing Director

Roger was born in London and moved to The Fens in the late 1950's. He obtained a National Certificate in Agriculture (plant based) before starting up as a Landscape Gardener to supplement his earnings as a sheep farmer. That part time job has developed into the Giles Landscapes of today. Roger still goes out to site to check on progress although most of his work is now office based.

In his spare time Roger enjoys playing football with the Giles Landscapes lads and has a keen interest in speed ice skating. He also has a dog called Kim who is a bit of a star and has been adopted by the office and become the Giles Landscapes mascot!

The Contracts Team

Richard Harmer - Contracts Manager

Richard joined Giles Landscapes when he was still at school in 1990 as a weekend and holiday job working in the plant nursery. Once he left school he then did a 2 year day release course in amenity horticulture at Wisbech College of agriculture and horticulture. He then went on to be a full time operative which then led to supervisor and eventually contracts manager. During this time Richard has completed various qualifications the latest being an NVQ level 4 in Landscape Management.

In his spare time, Richard enjoys spending time with his family and has a keen interest in motorcycles and motorcyle racing.

Emma Baldwin - Estimator

Emma is from an administration background working as an Account Supervisor before joining Giles Landscapes in 2005. She is currently undertaking an NVQ Level 3 in Business and Administration. She has gained her estimating experience by working alongside Giles Landscape's past Chief Estimator and Contracts Manager.

Emma enjoys socialising and looking after her cat, Molly.

Gary Evison - Maintenance Manager

Gary has been working at Giles Landscapes for 14 years starting as an operator and moving his way up to supervisor until 2006 when he was made Maintenance Manager. He has had extensive training in all areas of commercial and private landscaping gaining many manual qualifications and certification. He has also achieved an NVQ Level 3 in Amenity Horticulture.

In his spare time Gary is a keen speed skater and enjoys fishing and golf.

The Design Team

Stephen Hall - Principle Designer

After training and working as an engineering draughtsman, Stephen retrained as a garden designer at Writtle College during the early 1990's. He joined Giles Landscapes in 2004 and is currently studying for a BSC (hons) degree in Landscape and Garden Design at Writtle College. He has exhibited at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show four times winning a bronze and three silver medals along with a BBC People's Choice Award.

Steve is into conservation and environmental issues and is a keen long bow archer.

Jane Besser - Designer

Jane trained for three years at Capel Manor College in Enfield gaining a Diploma in Garden and Planting Design and joined Giles landscapes in May 2005. Among designing many private gardens, she has also designed and planted two show stands for Glee and won a certificate of Merit Award for designing and planting a show stand at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in 2006.

Jane enjoys writing poetry and song lyrics and is interested in ancient history.

The Office Team

Lynn Walker - Senior Office Assistant

Lynn joined Giles Landscapes in 2006 as Senior Office Assistant - having completed an economics degree she worked extensively in accounts and finance in blue chip companies and international banking.

Sandy Read - Senior Office Assistant

Sandy joined Giles Landscapes in 2006 as Senior Office Assistant - and brings extensive accounts experience to her role.

In her spare time Sandy runs the Greg Rusedski fan club and looks after her four cats.

Emily Bromfield - Office Administrator

Emily joined Giles Landscapes in 2007 as Office Administrator to the contracts team - She has extensive administration qualifications and is currently undertaking NVQ Level 3 in Business and Administration.

Emily likes to read and socialise.
